In Andy Warhol’s Throne Room

No place is boring, if you’ve had a good night’s sleep and have a pocket full of unexposed film. ~[tag]Robert Adams[/tag], [tag]Darkroom & Creative Camera Techniques[/tag], May 1995

Taking this quote to heart, I set out a few weeks ago to do a study of a bathroom. Well, actually, I didn’t “set out” to do it, it just kinda happened. Like the time you made out with that person you shouldn’t have, at that party you shouldn’t have gone too, but all just sorta happened anyway.

I just wanted to tinker with my camera and my new lenses — you know, play photography. But it was rainy out all day, then – of course – dark. So I ended up taking shots of the water bubbling up in the sink, and after playing around with the drain stopper and various f-stops, I got an interesting picture. I thought about the above quote, and then I really did set out to do a study of the bathroom, and actually came up with several photos that I rather like, a few of which I’ve posted here. Some cool B&W, as well as fun with hue and saturation in [tag]Photoshop[/tag]. You can see the entire set here …
